Queen Boudicca

Boudicca exhorted her troops from her chariot, her daughters beside her. Tacitus gives her a short speech in which she presents herself not as an aristocrat avenging her lost wealth but as an ordinary person, avenging her lost freedom, her battered body and the abused chastity of her daughters. Their cause was just and the deities were on their side; the one legion that had dared to face them had been destroyed. Perhaps as to taunt the men in her ranks, it is said that she asked them to consider: "Win the battle or perish: that is what I, a woman will do; you men can live on in slavery if that's what you want."

The Boudicca

In recognition of an individual, a company or group’s contribution to the Creative Economy of Great Britain and the Inspiration that they give to others they will be awarded a Boudicca, a forward looking woman who inspired others around her.

The Boudicca logo, with its four shades, represents England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland moving forward together as one.
